SEEN A HORSE YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT?

Report a concern about a horse

This form is for a horse that isn't yours. You don't need to be certain about what you're seeing. Tell us what you can, and you can report without giving your name.

TELL US WHAT YOU CAN

Every detail helps

The more information you can give us, the faster we can work out the right support. A location, what you've seen, and how long it's been going on are enough to start.

This form is for horses and donkeys only. For other animals, contact SPCA.

Thank you for reaching out to let us know you are concerned about a horse. We endeavour to help every horse in need, and your information will be the starting point for this. Thank you.

AFTER WE RECEIVE A REPORT

What happens next

  1. We read every report and work out what kind of help is needed.

  2. If another agency needs to be involved, such as SPCA or MPI, we contact them.

  3. Where we can, we reach out to the owner with practical advice and support.

  4. If a horse needs to come into care, either because an agency removes it or the owner chooses to surrender it, we step in.

If you've left contact details, we may get in touch to ask more questions if more detail is needed. We can't always share what happens next, as we respect the owner's privacy too.

Reporting isn't about blame. Most welfare issues come from a lack of knowledge, not intent, and early support is what keeps horses well.
