Hugo was still a young horse when he came into our care in very poor condition — extremely underweight and suffering from significant rainscald.

With good nutrition, veterinary care and plenty of time, he has been able to recover and show us the cheeky personality hiding underneath.

Hugo is a windsucker, which can sometimes make finding the right home a little harder, but with appropriate management it doesn't stop him from having a great quality of life.

He's also shown us what a fantastic paddock companion he can be. When he spent time grazing alongside young Duke around the time of Duke's castration, Hugo was wonderfully patient with him while still being firm enough to teach the youngster some important manners.

We think Hugo could have a fantastic future as a companion horse and would also be a brilliant candidate for someone interested in liberty work.
