Delta came into our care shortly after giving birth to her foal, Duke.

Her owners had originally taken Delta on themselves, not knowing that she was pregnant. When Duke unexpectedly arrived, they found themselves in a situation they weren't equipped to manage and made the decision to surrender the pair into our care.

By this point Delta had also become extremely protective of her new foal and could be difficult to handle, so our team gave her the time and space she needed to settle and learn that she and Duke were safe.

Duke has now been successfully weaned, giving Delta the opportunity to begin the next chapter of her own life.

Along the way, she has also managed to completely win over one of our volunteers. If everything continues to go to plan, Delta may already have found the person who will eventually give her a forever home.
