Annie came into our care in October 2024, just before her 21st birthday.

After the heartbreaking loss of her equine companion, Annie was left on her own and her owner was no longer in a position to provide the care she needed. At her age, and with a high level of anxiety around change, we knew that finding Annie another permanent home wouldn’t be the right option for her.

Instead, Annie joined our Golden Oldies programme and was placed into long-term foster care, where she can enjoy the security, companionship and care she deserves.

Annie won’t be available for adoption. She’ll remain part of the Equine Welfare NZ family for the rest of her life, with her ongoing care supported by us.
